In a story reminiscent of David and Goliath, a 13-year-old boy used a slingshot to rescue his little sister from a kidnapper.
The 8-year-old girl was playing in the backyard of her Alpena, Michigan home when a 17-year-old male came from the woods. He grabbed her and clamped a hand over her mouth so she couldn’t scream.
Fortunately, the older brother saw it happen from a window. He used a slingshot to strike the teenager multiple times on his head and chest.
The teenager released the girl and fled. But state police say the slingshot wounds helped identify the assailant at a gas station on Wednesday. He later confessed to planning to beat the young girl.
He is now charged as an adult for kidnapping, assault, and an attempt to cause great bodily harm.
He will be back in court in two days.
