In the wake of the overturning of Roe v. Wade, pro-abortion extremists have declared and enacted a violent “summer of rage.” While Democratic lawmakers have refused to condemn the violence, an overwhelming number of Americans strongly disapprove of the recent attacks on churches and crisis pregnancy centers and say that lawmakers should publicly come out against the violence.

A National Registered Voters Omnibus Survey for the month of July found that 86% of voters either strongly or somewhat agree with the statement that “protestors who engage in acts of vandalism and violence against pregnancy resource centers and churches should be prosecuted to the fullest.” Only 9% of voters said they disagreed with the statement.

Broken down by political affiliation: 91% of Republicans agreed that acts of vandalism and violence should be prosecuted, along with 85% of Independents, and 83% of Democrats. Only 4% of Republicans, 10% of Independents, and 13% of Democrats disagreed.

Meanwhile, the survey also found that 83% of voters say elected officials should denounce the violence and call for the perpetrators to be brought to justice – including 88% of Republicans, 82% of Independents, and 79% of Democrats.

Last month House Democrats, in a move led by Speaker Nancy Pelosi, blocked a resolution that would have condemned violence against pro-life centers and churches.

The GOP recently released an attack ad titled “Democrats: Extreme, Dangerous, Unhinged,” that highlights the recent pro-abortion violence, including the attempted assassination of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh. It also plays multiple clips of multiple Democrats, showing how their rhetoric perpetuated violence against pro-life institutions.

As of July 22, the Catholic News Agency has recorded 82 separate pro-abortion attacks, including 71 against churches and pregnancy centers.

In June, the FBI announced an investigation into the attacks, though conservatives have been critical of the slow pace of their probe into the incidents.

“The FBI is investigating a series of attacks and threats targeting pregnancy resource centers and faith-based organizations across the country,” the FBI said in a June statement. “The FBI takes all threats seriously and we continue to work closely with our law enforcement partners and will remain vigilant to protect our communities.”

The bureau has yet to announce any major updates from the investigation.
