President Biden is gearing up to announce his 2024 presidential bid as soon as next week.
A source familiar with the planning told CBS News that the Biden team is aiming to release a video on Tuesday, April 25. That will be the fourth anniversary of the day he announced his last presidential bid in 2019.
Biden himself has not yet officially signed off on the timing. If he were to win, Biden would be 82 years old at the beginning of a second term. He is already the oldest president ever to take office. A recent Reuters/Ipsos poll showed his approval rating at 39%.
Along with that, the president is seeing other competition as Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced his presidential bid this week, joining self-help guru Marianne Williamson in the race.
