As tensions between Washington and Beijing have been on the rise Secretary of State Antony Blinken has been meeting with top Chinese officials, including Chinese President Xi Jingping.

Both sides emphasized their desire for a stable relationship, but China’s foreign minister warned that U.S. interference with Taiwan could threaten that relationship.

Blinken said the Biden administration does not support Taiwan independence, and instead wants to uphold the status quo.
