Biden and U.S. Customs and Border Protection are coming under fire after a recent Twitter video showed federal Border Patrol officers cutting Texas’ new razor wire fence. They were then filmed letting illegal immigrants cross further into the state.
This comes as Texas is taking matters into its own hands – putting up wire fences like these, and even buoys on the Rio Grande to discourage border crossings. But the federal actions seem to counteract these efforts.
A CBP spokesperson defended the actions of the border agent in the video, saying the migrants were on U.S. soil, and therefore subject to U.S. immigration laws. It was later revealed that these immigrants were on private property and refused to leave.
They claimed to be a large family, and were then processed together and allowed to remain in the states.
