Chinese border crossing uptick leads to spy concerns

There’s been a new development at the border as Chinese nationals are now taking advantage of the crisis to illegally cross into the U.S.

Over 4000 Chinese have been caught at the southern border since October. Now this is a small percentage of the 1 million apprehensions in that time, but it’s already twice as many Chinese detained in the twelve months before.

Representative Matt Gaetz reported on this during his border visit earlier this month.

The record number of Chinese at the border comes amidst heightening tensions between the countries. This has led to concerns that communist spies are gaining entry to the U.S., as spoken by Representative Tim Burchett.

There have also been many reports that China has infiltrated the U.S. tech and agriculture sectors. China now owns around 384 thousand acres of U.S. farmland.

Just two weeks ago, Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines testified before the Senate that China is the top threat to national security.
