DOD says no action needed against mystery balloon over Hawaii

by ian

Reports of another mysterious balloon – this time over Hawaii – caused some alarm yesterday.

The balloon’s origin is unknown. But the Department of Defense said there’s no reason to be alarmed. According to a statement, they first detected the unmanned balloon on April 28th. They say it doesn’t appear to be controlled and did not go over sensitive military sites.

Based on this, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said “no action needed to be taken.”

Officials now believe the balloon is traveling toward Mexico.

The Biden administration walks a tightrope with their unknown aerial objects. Just two months ago, President Biden allowed a Chinese spy balloon to collect sensitive information from bases. He was panned heavily for his delay in destroying this balloon.

But then the DoD downed three other unidentified objects. One of these might have been a hobby balloon that cost less than $100.
