Federal agents seize 2000 pounds of fentanyl in Arizona

As the border crisis continues apace the amount of fentanyl pouring across the border is reaching shocking levels.

Between March 6th and May 8th federal agents in Arizona seized a whopping 2,000 pounds of fentanyl – enough to kill over 450 million people.

The seizure was part of a two month long multi-agency investigation. The drugs were found along four points of entry along the southern border and two checkpoints. One driver alone was carrying over 400 pounds of the deadly drug – it could kill almost 100 million Americans.

This comes as new CDC data shows fentanyl overdose deaths tripled from 2016 to 2021. A separate report shows fentanyl was the leading cause of death for adults under the age of 45 between 2020 and 2021.

U.S. lawmakers are considering declaring fentanyl a threat to national security.
