Mali’s Military Overthrows President In Coup, Promises Election Soon

Soldiers who recently ousted Mali’s president and government in a coup promised to oversee new elections soon.  President Ibrahim Boubacar Keita resigned and dissolved his parliament after the mutineers detained him at gunpoint.
