New Titanic photos show different side of the wreckage

New images of the Titanic shipwreck are giving people a whole new perspective on the sunken vessel.

For the first time ever, researchers were able to create full size 3d scans of the Titanic. The images were assembled after more than 200 hours and over 700,000 scans of the wreckage.

Researchers had previously been unable to see the ship in its entirety due to the conditions more than 13,000 feet below the Atlantic Ocean. The scans were conducted by Atlantic Productions as well as deep sea mapping company Magellan.

Shipwreck analysts are praising the new images as the first step in discovering what really happened to the Titanic. The highly detailed scans are even capable of showing items left behind by passengers on the ocean floor.

Though the Titanic sank in 1912, the wreckage was not discovered until 1985 and footage of the wreck was not available until this year. Researchers hope that these new scans are capable of showing what exactly happened to the Titanic.
