PA school district shuts down locker room access

One Pennsylvania school district says nobody can use locker rooms after becoming entangled in the trans debate.

Earlier this year, the Eastern Lebanon County School District allowed a biological girl to use the boys’ locker room. Since then, they’ve faced increasing concern from parents over the policy.

But now the culture war is temporarily paused following an eight to one school board vote to ban all locker rooms. They will only be opened temporarily for teams to change before competitions.

Students have until Friday to turn in their locker keys, now they must attend school dressed in their gym clothes. The new policy even says that students are not permitted to even use bathrooms to change before or after a class.

The superintendent believes they will find a better solution for the next school year, but for now the district is the second in Pennsylvania to have banned locker rooms after trans-policy backlash.
