A Milwaukee-based spice seller’s “Republicans are Racist Weekend” promotional stunt has backfired in spectacular fashion, forcing the company to beg customers to purchase gift cards to supplement lost revenue.

Penzeys Spices CEO Bill Penzey made the remarks in an email announcing a “Republicans Are Racist Weekend” sale over the Martin Luther King Day holiday in which he invites customers to help him “cheese off racists” while promising free BLM stickers with every purchase, as originally reported by The Blaze.

“Remember how Republicans did all they could to derail that success by trying to drown out BLM’s message with shouts of all lives matter, and blue lives matter, and lying about the leaders of BLM being Marxists and Communists?” Penzey prompted readers in the missive. He then continued to accuse Republicans of falsely claiming BLM was perpetuating violence throughout the country “against a mountain of evidence to the contrary.”

Penzey also claimed conservative Americans rushed out to buy guns amid the violent BLM riots of 2020 “because maybe they were finally going to get their chance to shoot a Black person,” before adding “What a bunch of racists.”

The CEO, who assures visitors of his company’s website that Penzeys is “a place where kindness matters,” also had a message for those on his Voice Of Cooking mailing list who happen to be conservative: “The Racist label is one you will deservingly wear every day you stand with them,” he seethed, adding, “Get used to it, or maybe instead, become a better person.”

The supercilious spice seller later admitted that the email caused the company to hemorrhage 40,005 email subscribers, though he claimed 30,000 new customers signed up to receive his patronizing promotions. “We are still down about 10,000,” Penzey acknowledged in an email Friday. “Please help.”

“After starting the year with All Republicans are Republicans and following up with Republicans are Racists we’ve set a nice little Boycott Penzeys! surge in motion,” Penzey wrote. “It certainly wasn’t unexpected, but if it’s within your means, you picking up a small stack of Gift Cards would help.”

Though momentarily humbled, Penzey seemed unable to resist yet another opportunity to put his fidelity to fundamental progressivism on display, proving that what he lacks in basic marketing and public relations skills, he more than makes up for in his impressive ability to recite a laundry list of progressive ideologies in one succinct paragraph.

“If you can’t even begin to fathom how to ‘compromise’ with January 6th, or the Republican vaccine lies needlessly killing 10,000 Americans every week, if you have no desire to become half-way racist, and if their intent to destroy our climate for one thousand years to come doesn’t have you asking: ‘What if we just destroyed it for five-hundred years instead?’” Penzey asks before encouraging readers to subscribe to the Voice Of Cooking email list.

Penzeys Spices purportedly spent more than $700,000 on Facebook ads in 2019 promoting the impeachment of Donald Trump, according to the Los Angeles Times.
