San Francisco State University responds to Riley Gaines assault

Chaos ensued at San Francisco State University on Thursday night.

Former collegiate swimmer and women’s sports advocate Riley Gaines posted video of her being accosted by protesters. She was then escorted off campus by police after her Turning Point USA speaking engagement. The protestors even held Gaines for ransom.

Gaines later told her Twitter followers that she had been physically attacked as she tried to exit. It was later reported she had been prevented from leaving for almost three hours.

Conservatives were uniformly outraged by the events, partially blaming White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre for previous remarks she made in regards to state laws.

After the chaos took place, an email from the university thanked the students “who participated peacefully in Thursday evening’s event.” Gaines has criticized the email for claiming the reaction was “peaceful.”
