One family in Mississippi was caught up in the tornadoes moving through the state. But thankfully, one storm chaser saved their lives and has even begun rebuilding their home.

Storm chaser Jonny Gabel drove from Illinois to Mississippi to survey the dangerous storms in the area. Tracking an EF-4 tornado to the town of Rolling Fork, Gabel told Fox Weather it was unlike anything he’d ever seen.

During he chase he came across a family calling for help, and was able to rescue them. He said it was “mind-blowing” that the family was healthy and safe.

Gabel has set up a GoFundMe Page asking for $50,000 in order to rebuild their home. He’s risen $5,000 so far.
