Surviving kidnapped Americans rescued in Mexico

by ian

Despite the grim news that two of the four kidnapped Americans had died, Mexican authorities were able to rescue the other two victims yesterday morning.

Acting on a tip, authorities found the victims in a wooden shack and arrested an armed guard found with the captives. One survivor had been shot in the leg. State Department Spokesman Ned Price said both survivors are back on American soil today.

Meanwhile the White House says cooperation between the U.S. and Mexico will continue.

Mexican investigators says kidnappers may have wrongly believed the Americans were rival human traffickers.
