Texas Governor buses illegal immigrants to Colorado and vows to send more

Denver residents were shocked yesterday when they learned that Texas Governor Greg Abbott sent a busload of illegal immigrants to their city.

According to the Denver Office of Emergency Management, forty one migrants were dropped off at a downtown park near the state capitol.

Despite being heavily criticized for his decision, Abbott said that he will do it again.

He said in a statement “until the President and his Administration step up and fulfill their constitutional duty to secure the border, the State of Texas will continue busing migrants to self-declared sanctuary cities like Denver to provide much-needed relief to our small border towns.”

Denver Mayor Michael Hancock criticized the move, calling it “political theater and partisan gamesmanship.”

Denver now joins cities such as Philadelphia, New York, Chicago, and Washington DC which have all received buses of migrants. Texas began the controversial busing program for illegal immigrants last year as a way of drawing attention to the ongoing border crisis.
