Update: L.A. Dodgers Pitcher Trevor Bauer’s Leave Extended To August 20

FISM News has followed the troubling case of Trevor Bauer, a pitcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers and the 2020 NL Cy Young Award winner.  Bauer has been under investigation for most of the summer following disturbing allegations of sexual abuse brought forth by an anonymous 27-year-old woman.

ESPN reported Friday that Bauer’s leave, which began in early July, has now been extended for the fifth time as the investigation continues.  He will be barred from playing with the team until at least August 20.

According to ESPN, both sides are digging in.  The woman claims Bauer brutally abused her without consent, while Bauer claims their interaction was entirely consensual.

This case has risen far beyond the baseball diamond in terms of importance, and hopefully justice will be served and the truth will be revealed.  Still, this could have large implications for the Dodgers as they seek a second consecutive World Series championship.
