More troubling news is emerging about the Chinese spy balloon that floated across the country, including sensitive military sites, earlier this year.
According to a report from the Wall Street Journal, U.S. officials found that the balloon, which was shot down off the East Coast in February, was made in part with American technology.
The journal described it as being “crammed with commercially available U.S. gear and interspersed with more specialized Chinese sensors and other equipment to collect photos, video and other information to transmit to China.” The report says it even had the ability to collect “radar data.”
The only good news is that the U.S. does not believe the balloon was able to transfer any of its captured data. Meanwhile officials are still trying to figure out whether or not any American items were illegally sold to China.
