WSJ says China looking to establish military base in Cuba

The Chinese threat grows by the day.

On the heels of the discovery that China has a spy facility in Cuba, the Wall Street Journal reports that China is also building a joint military training base on the island. Earlier this week, Secretary of State Antony Blinken said the U.S. is concerned about China’s operations in Cuba.

The report cites current and former U.S officials who noted with concern that the sites of the new facilities are only about 100 miles off Florida’s coast. As a result, Florida politicians are taking note.

Thursday, Congressman Matt Gaetz urged President Joe Biden to use the military to intervene.

Meanwhile, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said that China’s moves are the direct result of Biden’s foreign policy.
