In the 16th century there arose a monarch from the House of Tudor who would, upon her ascension to the throne, embark on a rampage to restore Roman Catholicism to the kingdom. Her moniker has been associated with the stuff of nightmares and urban legends ever since. She was Mary Tudor, known notoriously throughout history as “Bloody Mary.”
