A Moment in History: Emperor Titus

by ian

During His earthly ministry, the Lord Jesus Christ made a profound and harrowing prophecy to the Jewish people. Jesus said in Luke 21:24, roughly in the year 30 A.D., “And they will fall by the edge of the sword, and be led away captive into all nations. And Jerusalem will be trampled by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.” This prophecy came true 40 years later when a powerful Roman General and future emperor led the capture of the city and the destruction of its famous temple. This man would later serve as the 10th Emperor of the Roman Empire, Titus Flavius Vespasianus.
