A Moment In History: Psalm 51

by sam

King David has often been called the greatest king of Israel, and rightly so: he is remembered as a man after God’s own heart. But he is simultaneously remembered for his most public sin: adultery with Bathsheba and the murder of her husband Uriah, a faithful soldier in David’s army. By God’s grace, David was confronted by the prophet Nathan and repented of his sin. In this moment in history, let’s discover David’s prayer of repentance, which, under the influence of the Holy Spirit, has been preserved for us in sacred Scripture as Psalm 51.
