During Elizabeth Tudor’s reign, in the sixteenth and early seventeenth centuries and beyond, William Shakespeare became one of the best known playwrights and authors in history. His plays have been integral in Western civilization, read and performed by thousands in the Western world to this day. Tonight let’s discover the famous amphitheater in London where so many of those dramas were created and performed – the Globe Theater.
