The third decade of the 20th Century was a time of fast living, innovation, and themes of exceptionalism across America, all in the wake of victory in the Great War. That decade came to be known as the Roaring ’20s. But as great as it seemed to be, it all came grinding to a halt in 1929, when the stock market endured its most devastating crash in history. This drove the country, and the world, into the Great Depression. As a result, millions of Americans went into economic hardship.
