Yesterday, ABC News released the official ruleset for its upcoming presidential debate, matching the rules of Donald Trump’s June debate against President Joe Biden.
Candidates will give no opening statements, will not be allowed to bring pre-written notes, and will be required to stand behind their podiums the entire time. The candidate’s microphone will also be muted while the other is speaking – a rule that the Harris campaign had opposed.
The debate will air at 9 p.m. ET time on Tuesday, Sept. 10, and will be moderated by David Muir and Linsey Davis.
