Customs and Border Protection officers grappling with the nation’s unparalleled border crisis who are facing yet another massive surge have now been tasked with learning proper usage of LGBTQ+ pronouns when addressing illegal immigrants.

As first reported by Just the News, The Homeland Security Department’s new requirement was tacked onto sweeping actions made across multiple agencies in conjunction with President Biden’s March 30 proclamation of International Trans Day of Visibility.

“Facilitating effective communication at U.S. ports of entry and beyond: CBP has provided a job aid and memorandum to all staff that will serve as a guide for facilitating effective communication with the diverse public CBP serves, including LGBTQI+ individuals,” the agency said.

“The guidance includes using gender-neutral language and an individual’s self-identified pronouns and name,” it added.

The CBP reported close to one million migrant encounters along the southwest border in fiscal year 2022. In addition to record-shattering apprehensions, border law enforcement has been forced to cope with an increased presence of drug cartels, human trafficking, and a steady flood of deadly Fentanyl coming across the border.

A new caravan of hundreds of thousands of migrants is currently making its way to the U.S. following last week’s announcement that the Biden administration is repealing Title 42, a pandemic-related health directive that has allowed agents to expel about half of illegal immigrants at the border.

According to Fox News, about 2,000 illegal immigrants cross into the U.S. each day because Border Patrol agents simply aren’t able to process them.
