Biden blocks access to Robert Hur tapes as Garland faces contempt charges

by ian

It looks like President Joe Biden is determined not to let his interview with Special Counsel Robert Hur be released to the public. Yesterday, he invoked executive privilege to block the release of audio recordings from the interview concerning his alleged mishandling of classified documents.

Republicans on the House Oversight and Judiciary committees voted yesterday to advance contempt charges against Attorney General Merrick Garland for refusing to hand over the files.

The committees have been requesting the tapes since late February. So far, Garland has refused, calling the request illegitimate.
