Biden cites party pressure, defeating Trump as reasons for dropout in CBS interview

Sitting down with CBS News, President Joe Biden explained why he decided not to seek a second term – basically admitting his fellow Democrats forced him to step down.

Beyond pressure from his party, Biden also said the need to defeat Donald Trump was a major factor in his decision.

Biden said he has an “obligation to the country” to help defeat Trump this November and plans to do whatever he can to help Vice President Kamala Harris win the election.
