President Joe Biden had a phone call with Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador this week to discuss the ongoing border crisis.

In a joint statement, the leaders said the call mainly focused on efforts to “effectively manage” migration and “strengthen operational efficiency” at the border.

According to the statement, they also “ordered their national security teams to work together to immediately implement concrete measures to significantly reduce irregular border crossings while protecting human rights.” However, no details were given on what these policies would be.

President Biden continues to get hammered over his handling of the border crisis. According to the Real Clear Politics polling average, Biden has a mere 32% approval rating when it comes to immigration.
