Biden gives J6 speech as sympathy grows for rioters

by ian

Tomorrow is Jan. 6 and President Joe Biden traveled to Valley Forge today to give a speech remembering the third anniversary of the Capitol riot.

Biden’s reelection campaign says the president will use the Revolutionary War site to draw comparisons between former President Donald Trump’s existential threat to democracy and America’s fight for independence from Britain.

But the speech comes at a strange time for the president as more Americans are growing sympathetic to the rioters. A new Suffolk University/USA Today poll shows about 4 in 10 voters say the rioters ” went too far, but they had a point.”

Less than half of Americans view them as criminals, and that’s down from 70% three years ago, but the overwhelming majority still say their actions were inappropriate.
