Biden receives major backlash for ‘Transgender Day of Visibility’ proclamation

Over the weekend, the Biden administration announced in a rather controversial statement that March 31 will officially be recognized as Transgender Visibility Day.

The Good Friday announcement received major backlash from conservatives and Christians as March 31 fell on Easter Sunday this year. Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) called Biden’s move “outrageous and abhorrent” and said, “The American people are taking note.”

Former President Donald Trump’s campaign demanded an apology from President Biden for declaring trans visibility day on Christianity’s most holy day.

However, the White House has defended its announcement, saying that President Biden, a self-proclaimed Christian, seeks to unite people and uphold every American’s dignity. The administration called the criticism a hateful and divisive rhetoric.
