Biden says Mayorkas impeachment will not be remembered ‘kindly’

by ian

In light of the historic impeachment against DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, President Joe Biden excoriated House Republicans yesterday, saying “history will not look kindly” on them.

He went on to call the move a “blatant act of unconstitutional partisanship…in order to play petty political games.” The president also defended Mayorkas, saying the secretary has “upheld the rule of law faithfully.” Ultimately, House Republicans did not agree.

Biden concluded his statement by urging the House to do two things: deliver more border resources to his administration and pass the Senate’s $95 billion foreign aid package.
