Biden sees record-breaking haul at star-studded LA fundraiser

The Biden campaign raked in some serious cash this weekend, raising an impressive $30 million at a star-studded fundraiser in LA.

Saturday’s event set a new record for the most money raised by the Democratic Party in one night. During the event, President Joe Biden made a special issue out of the Supreme Court, calling it “out of kilter” with its conservative majority.

Biden was joined on stage by late-night host Jimmy Kimmel and former President Barack Obama, who also commented on the court.

“The power of the Supreme Court is determined by elections,” Obama said. “What we’re seeing now is a byproduct of 2016.”

Despite the night’s success, it didn’t end on the best note. Conservatives were quick to share an awkward closing moment where Obama took Biden by the hand and led him off stage.

An NBC News poll from February shows 62% of voters are very concerned about Biden’s age going into a second term compared to only 34% who said the same about Trump, who turned 78 on Friday.
