President Joe Biden drew criticism over the weekend for vacationing when he still hasn’t visited East Palestine, Ohio.
The heckling began on Saturday when the president visited Florida in the wake of Hurricane Idalia. His visit to the storm-wrecked state brought to mind the community impacted by a hazardous train derailment.
Biden promised six months ago he would visit the disaster zone, yet still hasn’t found the time.
Biden said he couldn’t go because of a trip to India and Vietnam. But he immediately left Florida for his home in Delaware. He insists he wasn’t there on vacation. In a bizarre moment, he even said he was ‘homeless.’
House Republicans slammed the comment, writing on X that Biden has two homes and the White House. According to an analysis by the New York Post, Biden has spent 40% of his presidency on vacation.
