Biden’s Title IX changes dealt another blow

President Joe Biden’s new Title IX regulations are facing a roadblock in six states.

A federal judge in Kentucky ruled that the law, which would include expanded protections for LGBT students, is “arbitrary in the truest sense of the word.” The judge temporarily blocked the rule in Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia.

The ruling came only days after another judge blocked Biden’s Title IX rule in Montana, Idaho, Mississippi and Louisiana. According to ABC News, over 20 attorneys general in red states are challenging the Biden administration’s added rule.

The Department of Education’s summary says that schools must not discriminate against students based on gender identity, including in “sex-separate activities.” However, the statement also says that exceptions may apply to sports and living facilities.
