A reparations movement is now calling on Boston’s “white establishment churches,” in their words, to pay $15 billion to the city’s black community.
The Boston People’s Reparations Commission is also calling on churches to “confess their complicity” in the city’s history of slavery. This comes as back in 2022 the City of Boston issued an official apology for its participation in the slave trade. Boston Mayor Michelle Wu then created the Boston Reparations Task Force.
L’Merchie Frazier, a member of that task force, told Fox News that this demand could be just the beginning.
