Catholics call out Biden for ‘manipulating’ text in new rule to approve abortion

Some Catholics are criticizing President Joe Biden’s new rule that forces employers to fund abortions.

Back in 2022, Congress passed a pro-life bill that called on employers to provide “reasonable accommodations to a worker’s known limitations related to pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions, unless the accommodation will cause the employer an undue hardship.”

The bill did not define what a “related medical condition” could be which the Biden administration is now skewing toward abortion accommodation.

The Catholic University of America, alongside other bishops, argued that the bill known as the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act does not support abortion as “related to pregnancy or childbirth as those terms are used in the PWFA because it intentionally ends pregnancy and prevents childbirth.”
