U.S. forces fended off two different waves of Houthi attacks in the Red Sea yesterday.
A U.S. Destroyer shot down one anti-ship missile and three suicide drones aimed at the USS Carney. Naval forces also destroyed three more missiles and three unmanned surface vessels later that night.
The day prior, Houthis damaged Sky II, a Liberian-flagged and Swiss-owned shipping vessel. In the days before that, they sank the Rubymar. And while the terrorists remain undeterred, the Pentagon says there are no plans to send additional resources to the region.
Former CENTCOM Commander Gen. Joseph Votel has been critical of the U.S. response. He says the U.S. would be better off targeting Houthi supply chains from Iran.
