College football is officially underway as a full slate of games are scheduled for this weekend. Fans are hoping for a more normal season, after last season was interrupted by late starts and cancelled games due to Covid-restrictions. The season kicks off with several high profile games, making for an exciting Saturday. Tim Tebow, Christian celebrity and former college football star, expressed his excitement on Twitter Thursday’s games began:

College football enthusiasts can watch three successive top 20 clashes with #19 Penn State taking on #12 Wisconsin at 12pm, followed by #1 Alabama against #14 Miami, and then finally the prime-time game which pits #3 Clemson against #5 Georgia at 7:30. All teams will be looking to knock off perennial favorite Alabama who won the national championship last year and starts the season favored to win it all again.
Saturday’s lineup of games will likely give fans a taste of what is to come in December and January. Many of the teams playing in those Saturday games should, barring significant injury, be in contention for the four-team College Football playoff to determine the national champion at the end of the year.
For some teams, the season has already begun. On Thursday night, #4 Ohio State won a shootout against the University of Minnesota, 45-31. In some lower-profile matchups, #22 Coastal Carolina crushed The Citadel, 52-14. #24 Utah hammered Weber State, 40-17, and #25 Arizona State pounded Southern Utah, 41-14.
Some other teams will take the field Friday night. #10 North Carolina will travel to Lane Stadium, where there is always a rowdy crowd for football, to take on Virginia Tech in prime time.
