Conservatives lash out against Speaker Johnson for budget deal

With more than half of Republicans in the House voting against the most recent spending deal, conservatives are now voicing their frustration with Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.). This includes Texas Rep. Chip Roy, who said both parties are to blame for the government’s reckless spending.

Now, the Speaker might be facing a deja vu in the House. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) on Friday introduced a motion to vacate Johnson as speaker. But not all of her peers are on board.

Greene’s two major allies, Reps. Matt Gaetz (Fla.) and Tim Burchett (Tenn.), have both said they will not support the move. And Rep. Michael McCaul (Texas) told “Face the Nation” that the House has bigger fish to fry.
