It looks like Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis is on thin ice as new witness testimony suggests she lied under oath.
The DA is defending herself in court from allegations of having an improper relationship with prosecutor Nathan Wade, who she hired to work the Trump 2020 election case. It’s a relationship she previously said didn’t begin until 2022. But yesterday a former employee testified that it started much earlier than that.
The pressure is on for Willis, whose case against the former president could be thrown out over the allegations. Willis emphatically denied the allegations yesterday.
Legal experts agree she’s in a tough spot. MSNBC analyst Caroline Polisi says the Trump case is “dead in the water” if Willis lied to the court.
