Dallas school teachers found to be involved in unsanctioned LGBT program

The Dallas Independent School District came under scrutiny recently after it partnered with an LGBT organization without approval.

The Dallas Express obtained documents saying that Dallas ISD partnered with The Out for Safe Schools program, which taught teachers how to become “allies” to LGBT students in the district. At the same time, the program operated in partnership with a clinic that offered hormone therapy and clearance letters for sex alteration surgeries.

According to documents, the school district never authorized such a partnership. However, further evidence shows that the LGBT organization and some officials from the school district actively tried to recruit teachers, albeit without success.

Dallas ISD didn’t respond to requests for comment, but apparently, this is not the first time the district was questioned about its LGBT programs. The Dallas Express said the school previously hid other documents on its website that encouraged students to transition.
