DC insiders dish on Biden’s cognitive decline, WH responds

The White House is slamming a new Wall Street Journal report about President Joe Biden’s mental fitness as a political hit piece.

The report cites dozens of lawmakers and administration officials, including some Democrats. They described Biden as confused, forgetful, and incapable of participating in meetings without using notecards. One of the report’s main sources was former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-La.), who has frequently shared stories about Biden’s mental health.

Critics point out that most of the negative descriptions came from Republicans. Former Democrat Speaker Nancy Pelosi (Calif.) said the report ignored her positive comments about the president. But despite the piece’s potential bias, it does seem to line up with other reports about Biden’s mental acuity.

Special Counsel Robert Hur’ described Biden as a “sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory.”

In a recent interview with Time, Biden confused Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping and sometimes made “unintelligible” remarks according to the transcript.
