Democratic strategist says Trump led a ‘movement’

A leading Democratic strategist says that Donald Trump is the leader of a new political movement. Donna Brazile compared Trump to former presidents Ronald Reagan and Barack Obama, who galvanized support.

She noted a key difference in how Trump’s ongoing legal woes only seem to strengthen his hold on his fanbase. One example is how a mugshot helped his campaign raise $10 million.

But she’s not the only one who is stunned. The most recent hypothetical matchup from the Wall Street Journal puts Trump and Biden tied with 46-percent support. ABC’s George Stephanopoulous called it “shocking” on Sunday.

The poll shows that 60 percent of Republican primary voters believe the criminal charges are politically motivated and 78 percent believe Trump acted legitimately to protect election integrity.
