The Democratic National Convention began today, with President Joe Biden officially passing the baton to Vice President Kamala Harris.
Other notable speakers will include former Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton, ex-Speaker Nanci Pelosi, and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg. Vice Presidential candidate Tim Walz will accept his nomination on Wednesday, while Harris is set to receive her presidential nomination on Thursday.
The DNC’s theme for this year includes two phrases: “History is in your hands” and “Spread the faith.”
Former President Jimmy Carter’s grandson will also speak at the Democrat event. He said he hopes his grandfather will live long enough to vote for Harris.
