Dems announce new plan to keep Trump off ballot

by ian

It’s been only one day since the Supreme Court ruled Colorado can’t remove Donald Trump from the ballot and Democrats are already coming up with a new plan to disqualify him.

Yesterday, the Supreme Court ruled that only Congress can bar a candidate under the 14th Amendment – not an individual state. Now, a former member of the Jan. 6 committee, Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.), says he’s working on a bill to do just that.

Raskin told Axios that the bill would be paired with a resolution officially declaring Jan. 6 an “insurrection.” But Raskin admits the plan is a longshot, as he fully expects House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) to stonewall the bill.
