Homeland Security admits it is not tracking illegal immigrants released into the U.S.

Just the News reports that in September 2022, a Washington Post reporter emailed a DHS public relations official asking where busing programs were sending migrants in the US. The official responded that it’s “hard to say because … they’re already out of our custody.”

Migrants frequently declare nonexistent destination addresses when leaving border patrol custody. Border Patrol Council president Brandon Judd says that nobody is looking for migrants who skip out on their court days, placing blame on Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.

This comes as there were nearly 243,000 illegal border crossers last month according to new federal data. The majority of those are adults traveling alone.
