DHS: Migrants died following National Guard seizure

by ian

Some serious accusations surround the border crisis as the Department of Homeland Security claims three migrants drowned at the border last week in an area now under the authority of Texas police.

The state of Texas seized Shelby Park last week, citing concerns about a large, unmitigated influx of migrants in that area. Now, a DHS spokesperson says that Border Patrol agents were blocked from entering the area after “receiving a distress call from the Mexican government.”

They claim an adult migrant and two children died in the process. But Texas authorities say they fully investigated the incident, using lights and night-vision goggles to search the area.

Ultimately, they said they did not see any migrants in distress.
