Election season kicks into high gear this week with the first mail-in ballots being sent to voters this Friday.
According to Fox News, the first voters to be sent absentee ballots will be in North Carolina, which begins mailing out ballots for eligible voters on Sept. 6.
Six more battleground states also begin early voting this month, including Pennsylvania, Georgia, Wisconsin, Michigan and Nevada. Several states also begin early in-person voting by the end of the month.
Mail-in voting serves as a backdrop to Kamala Harris and Donald Trump preparing for their first debate next week on Tuesday, Sept. 10, hosted by ABC News. After weeks of back and forth, the rules appear to be set with ABC rejecting Harris’ request to leave both mics unmuted for the entire debate.
