Following the wild success of Elon Musk’s Tesla vehicles, the billionaire has now announced a new technology he is calling the Tesla Bot. This new invention will be a humanoid robot that will perform dangerous, repetitive, or boring work in businesses and homes to those able to afford it. The robot will run according to a new Artificial Intelligence that Tesla is reportedly working on and a prototype is scheduled to be completed within a year’s time.

The announcement comes after Tesla has come under increased scrutiny due to the mistakes in its vehicles self-driving technology. After a number of accidents, a safety investigation has been opened by automobile safety regulators into the company. These recent events have put a cloud over the newly announced robot as any malfunction in its technology could have potentially dystopian consequences.
Indeed, even with Tesla’s reports that they are updating their car software with a brand new and state of the art program, some skeptics have said that Tesla and Musk over-promise the capabilities of their products. These critics point out that Tesla tends to scale back the technology that they ultimately release, simply because the technology cannot accomplish what was originally promised. While Tesla is incredibly good at branding and the aesthetics, more people are becoming suspicious that the substance may be largely lacking.
